Storytellers
Choose whose life you're actively preserving. Seats scale with your plan.
What it is
A "storyteller" is a person you've explicitly chosen to record — a seat. Being in the family tree doesn't use a seat; you decide who to actively capture. Keepsake includes 1 storyteller, Family up to 8, Heirloom unlimited.
How to use it
- 1Add people to your tree.
- 2On the People page, choose "Make a storyteller" for anyone you want to record.
- 3You can change who your storytellers are anytime.
A family who used it
The family put both grandparents and a great-aunt on Family's 8 seats — three living voices being captured every week — while dozens of relatives fill out the tree around them without costing a thing.
Good to know
Can I change who my storytellers are?
Yes, anytime. Remove one to free a seat and add someone else.
What happens to recordings if I remove a storyteller or downgrade?
Every raw video, audio and photo they recorded stays in your archive and remains downloadable — it's yours. Their extras (transcripts, translations, film) are dropped, and they can't be recorded again until re-added. Nothing you captured is deleted.
